Morimoto is owned and run by Masahara Morimoto, who is a famous chef of the reality TV show Iron Chef. He’s also worked at Nobu’s in the past for seven years until he rightly decided to start up his own sushi restaurant.

In Philadelphia, he managed to find a partner who didn’t hesitate to invest in his vast knowledge as a sushi chef and the restaurant was finally opened on Chestnut Street. It is an absolutely massive place with an outstanding architecture. People are sat in impressive booths that are made of frosted glass which slowly changes its colours while dining. As for the ceiling, it’s a wooden structure with boards imitating sea waves.

A genuine master at sushi, Morimoto beautifully dazzles with an internationally inspired menu. The acclaimed Morimoto sashimi comes with colourful sauces in small squeeze tubes which are very easily discarded for freshly made wasabi.

If you’re a fan of classic Morimoto, you might like to try the sweet black cod served with a ginger-soy sauce. Finally, the light tofu cheesecake makes a perfect night winter.
